This park is placed along the Wapsipinicon River giving it an additional beauty brought by the natural river wildlife. Though, this is NOT an access to the river, you could try to haul your gear and boat from the parking lot and hike the trails to the Sand Creek Sandbar and load in that way. The kayaking and canoeing in this area is mostly done in the parks pond. The pond only connects to the river during high water.
